    Celebrating more than 70 years in print, Charlotte’s Web is a classic loved by young and old!

    All of your favorite E.B. White characters are coming to the ARIEL stage: Wilbur, the radiant young pig who is desperately trying to avoid becoming bacon; Fern, the sweet energetic girl who has a special connection with animals; Templeton, the gluttonous wise-cracking rat who produces the occasional good deed; the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be a good writer and an even better friend; and all of the other animal friends and townsfolk who witness the strange and “terrific” events at the county fair.

    Join us at The Karen Wilson Children’s Theatre at 320 Main Street, Salinas to see the story unfold.

    Gather your flock and make your way to ARIEL Theatrical for a classic story with a musical twist. Celebrate the triumph of a little bird who discovers that taunting and teasing do not deter destiny. Our youngest actors (ages 5-11) take to the stage to present this heartwarming story about hidden potential that lies within us all.   3. FIRST ANNUAL ARIEL SING-A-THON

    Another fun way to support ARIEL is just around the corner! The first ever ARIEL Sing-a-Thonariel-theatrical-sing-a-thon will happen on Friday, March 29 from 5-8 pm at The Karen Wilson Children’s Theatre. With karaoke performances, group sing-a-longs, food, door prizes and more, this will be a fun family event for all ages. Tickets are just $5 and will be on sale at ARIEL beginning March 18. Karaoke songs are available to perform for a $300 donation (collecting pledges is encouraged) and business sponsors (donations of $150+) will be acknowledged in the event program and on custom ARIEL Sing-a-Thon t-shirts.   4. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

    In this hilarious Christmas classic by Barbara Robinson, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdmans – six rowdy siblings who showed up for the free snacks. As their shenanigans create chaos on stage, the true meaning of Christmas emerges in a very unexpected way. Create Christmas memories and support ARIEL in the effort to provide programs that teach responsibility, encourage creativity and build community.

    ARIEL Theatrical presents The Wizard of Oz!

    “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” to ARIEL Theatrical for a classic musical that will take you and your family on an “Over the Rainbow” adventure! Featuring a cast of 65 young people, L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz will bring Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion, the Munchkins and other colorful characters to life as they bargain with the Wizard and contend with the menacing Wicked Witch of the West. Take a trip to Oz this summer at ARIEL Theatrical!

  6. Classes at ARIEL

    Registration for ARIEL Theatrical’s The Play’s The Thing! (so why not learn to act?), a series of classes in acting for the stage is open through September 25 or until classes are full. Tuition is $160 per student and includes all necessary materials. When registering two or more students, the first student is full price and additional students are $140 per student. Classes will be Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am from October 2 through November 20. The series will conclude with a recital on the evening of Friday, November 20. All classes, as well as the recital, will be held at ARIEL’s home, the Karen Wilson Children’s Theatre, 320 Main Street in Oldtown, Salinas.     This eight-week series offers students grades 1 through 12, of all talents and abilities, an opportunity to develop performance skills in a positive environment. Each two hour class will focus on a specific element of theatre performance and incorporate Academic content standards for Visual and Performing Arts adopted by the California State Board of Education. Classes will include discussion plus lively, hands-on activities exploring how those skills can be utilized on stage and can benefit students’ lives off stage.
